Road Safety Tips

Road Safety Tips

Do not drink and drive. Alcohol alters your ability to drive safely; it slows your reaction time, decreases your awareness and impairs your judgement.

Using a cell phone when driving is dangerous and can cause accidents; pull over in a safe place to make a call.
Whilst driving pay attention to pedestrians especially children and senior citizens.
Always wear your seat belt, even back seat passengers, and never allow a child to stand between the two front seats.
Keep a safe following distance from other vehicles by adopting the two second rule; this also helps to avoid rear end collisions.
Other Tips
Always observe and anticipate the actions of other road users and compensate for any mistakes they might make.
When about to overtake, check mirrors, indicate and make sure you are not being overtaken.
Practice Road Safety, do not learn by accident. Road Safety begins with you.
The faster a vehicle is travelling, less time there is to react, the longer it takes to stop, the harder it is to control and the more severe the impact.
It is better to give way to the other driver in order to avoid an accident. Drive defensively.
