Schools Senior Basketball Competition

On Thursday, October 9th, the National Sports Council officially launched the Co-operators General Insurance Schools Senior Basketball Competition with an Opening Ceremony, followed by a skills and shooting competition at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium.

As part of the launch, Business Development & Marketing Officer, Sabrina Blackman, presented the sponsor’s cheque to Deputy Director of the National Sports Council, Emerson Bascombe, marking the start of the exciting tournament.

Co-operators Partners with NCSA to Support PROJECT S.O.F.T. 2025

Co-operators has once again partnered with the National Council on Substance Abuse to sponsor the shirts for the 23rd Annual PROJECT Safeguarding Our Future Today (PROJECT S.O.F.T.) 2025. PROJECT S.O.F.T. seeks to increase the protective factors of forty 11-year-old students transitioning from primary to secondary school, with the aim of preventing or delaying the onset of drug use. The presentation of the shirts was made by (left to right) Sabrina Blackman, Business Development & Marketing Officer; Cheryl Forde, Manager – Human Resources & Marketing; and Makeada Bourne, Substance Abuse Prevention Officer.

Let’s Talk Road Safety

On July 4th, we resumed “Let’s Talk Road Safety with Co-operators”, a weekly radio program aired on VOB 92.9 FM every Friday at 9:30 a.m. This initiative formed part of our ongoing commitment to public education, aimed at reducing road accidents across the island. Each week, listeners were invited to call in and share practical solutions for preventing accidents based on a scenario presented during the program. One winner was selected weekly to receive vouchers in recognition of their participation.

They won the series 3-1 over C.A.M Smart Assurance City United Celtics. Presenting the winning trophy to them is Underwriting Manager, Kirkland Clarke.

Co-operators Supports CARIFTA-Bound Athletes of Elite Distance Track & Field Club

On April 10th, the company proudly hosted a presentation for the athletes of the Elite Distance Track & Field Club who qualified for the CARIFTA Team. As a gesture of support and encouragement, the athletes were presented with branded water bottles, towels, resistance bands, and socks. This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to celebrating and supporting the achievements of young athletes.

Love on the go Radio Program

During the week of Valentine’s Day, listeners of VOB 92.9 were encouraged to call in and share one tip that forms part of the Drivers’ Pledge. This promotion aimed to raise awareness about road safety and encourage the public to be more cautious while using the roads.

Listeners also had the chance to win Valentine’s Day prizes while promoting safe driving. Prizes included wines, chocolates, Co-op umbrellas, and $250 cash. Winners were presented with their prizes on Valentine’s Day.

Cancer Society Presentation

Co-operators General Gives Back

Co-operators General Insurance Company Ltd. presented an undisclosed amount of shopping vouchers to The Household Mitigation Unit of the Prime Minister?s Office, various school groups and the needy persons in their spheres.During the presentation held at the company?s Head Office in Upper Collymore Rock, General Manager of the company Anton Lovell said that they were aware of the difficulties persons are facing with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and believed that as a community minded company, they thought it would be a good gesture to assist those most in need. Presentations were made to Mr. Corey Lane, Head of the Household Mitigation Unit, Principal of the Ann Hill School, Emelda Belle and members of the Deighton Griffith School`s Panthers breakfast club. Each recipient was appreciative of the donation and thanked the company for their support.

Tree planting initiative on Co-operators compound
